In short: AI PPE monitoring does not replace HSE leadership. It closes the blind spot between audits: silent non-compliance, critical zones, factual proof for ISO 45001. Typical deployment on existing cameras, with edge decisions and no cloud.
1) The limit of point-in-time walkthroughs
Manual checks (rounds, photos, checklists) produce point-in-time proof. Between visits, gaps stay invisible. For an HSE director, the risk is not only the incident: it is the inability to show continuous compliance to an auditor or after an event.
2) What an AI PPE system is (and is not)
It is: visual detection of required PPE by zone, actionable alerts, logs / dashboards for safety governance.
It is not: generalized surveillance or policing. Useful field language: compliance, continuous, factual, edge, existing cameras.
3) Selection criteria
- Works on the existing camera estate (CCTV / industrial).
- Local decisions (edge): streams stay on site, GDPR by design.
- Controlled false positives (alert fatigue kills adoption).
- Usable evidence: timestamp, zone, gap type, audit export.
- Short POC (2 to 4 weeks) on one critical zone before multi-site rollout.
4) How ARCY deploys
On Safety & PPE, we attach AI vision to your existing streams, prioritize high-risk zones, and deliver continuous evidence instead of a declarative setup. Complementary to an existing vision stack (including Cognex / CCTV): intelligence lives in the software.
